For fifty years, a coordinated campaign convinced her that her power lived in the boardroom, not the home. That the kitchen was a prison. That liberation meant leaving. The message came from academia, from media, from corporations, from government — the full weight of the credentialed expert class pointed in one direction. So she left.

What followed wasn't liberation. It was extraction. Housing prices bid up to require two incomes. Childcare costs consumed the second paycheck. The savings rate collapsed eighty percent.
